On this day the Orthodox Church remembers St. John of Shanghai and San Francisco.

This year marks 15th anniversary of his canonization. At St. Tikhon Orthodox Church we are blessed to have a piece of St. Johns mantia. O Holy Hierarch John pray unto Christ for us.

Second Sunday after Pentecost is dedicated to All Saints of North America.

Many of these saints have walked the great land of Alaska. We today are blessed to be able to reap the fruits of their labours.

Through their prayers, may Christ our God continue to give us the strenght in being the witnesses of the Orthodox faith.

On this day the Orthodox Church begins the Apostles Fast. The fast will last until July 11th.

The length of this fast depends on the date of Pascha. It always begins on Monday after the Sunday of All Saints.
